Structured courses include a power-point presentation, handouts and quizzes all based on the weekly topic. Discussion and questions are always welcome. Unfortunately due to the Covid 19 threat we cannot actually play our pre-dealt hands.
This Declarer Play course will run for 4 mornings, Monday - Thursday
at 10 am till 11.15 am.
The 4 areas of Declarer Play we will cover are:
Planning - counting winners or losers, drawing or delaying trumps,
the work suit, entries
Finesse - how to make tricks when a higher card is in the opposition's hands
Communication - cutting it off between the opponents using the Rule of 7 or 'ducking'.
The Danger Hand - what can go wrong? Keep the danger hand off lead
Each lesson will start by correcting the quiz from the previous day's Declarer Play, then there will be a power-point presentation based on the new Declarer Play If there is time, some ready prepared play hands will be shown for students to bid and talk through the play. Unfortunately due to the Covid 19 threat we cannot actually play our pre-dealt hands.
Quizzes and handouts, based on the daily Declarer Play class, will be sent to students by email after each lesson along with the Zoom link for the next day's class.
